From the time of my Elementary school days, I have always been intrigued by people in other countries and different cultures. To me the world has always been an open textbook. That adventurous spirit has followed me into adulthood and is the reason why I chose to be a travel agent. So it was no surprise, when I was given the option to travel to Cuba, I jumped at the opportunity.
In a few days (June 12th 2016) I will fly to Miami and then board the Fathom, one of the first cruise ships to be granted US approval for round trip travel, for a 7 day cruise with stops in Havana, Cienfuegos and Santa de Cuba.. The Fathom itinerary has been authorized under the current “people to people” guidelines as set forth by the U.S. government. However, this is not your typical cruise. There will be no opportunity to kick back on the beach or spend the night club hopping. The purpose of this cruise tour is to engage in activities that support the cultural,, artistic and humanitarian exchange of the Cuban people. Check back in a few days to hear more about my trip to Cuba and get a snapshot of my adventures through my blog.
